Welcome back MAA families to a new school year and a special welcome to our newest moose.  We can’t wait to see all of our students next week.  Below you will find important information regarding the start of school.

Staggered Entry for September 2022

We will have staggered entry for specific grade levels starting September 6, 2022.

K-2 Students

Grades K-2 students and parents will receive a phone call from your child’s teacher during the week of August 29th.  Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you to let you know which days your child will come to school during the week of September 6^th – 9^th. 

Your child’s teacher will also ask you to confirm bussing arrangements for after school and provide a current email address and all current phone numbers.  Parents please note that to access your child’s bussing information you MUST create a profile on Bus Planner by doing the following:

· Go to the ASD-N Website: http://asd-n.nbed.nb.ca/

· Click the Bus Planner icon on the right side of the page

· Click on the Parent Portal icon. You will need to create an account as directed, then add the student’s information ( you will need the student’s NBEN number from their Report Card), birthdate and home address.

If you do not have internet access or have difficulty obtaining the information, please call the ASD-N District Office Transportation Dept. at 1-800-661-6667 or 778-6075.

Grades 6-8 Students

In grades 6-8, students will have staggered entry: 

·         Tuesday, September 6^th – grade 6 students only.  Grades 7 & 8 stay home.

·         Wednesday, September 7^th - All Middle School students attend.

·         Activity periods from 2:00 – 3:00 pm will start the week of September 12^th.

·         All Middle School students will go home at 2:00 pm during the first week of school.

School Access: Parents are not permitted to enter the school except by appointment. Please phone 627-4086 to make an appointment with your child’s teacher, if necessary. 

Student Arrival at School

Bus students will enter through back entrances by bus loop.

Student Entrances for Parent Drop-Off (New Routine)

ALL students K-8 being dropped off by parents in the morning will enter the building through the front main doors. 

School doors will open at 7:50 am.  No students will be permitted inside until that time as there is no supervision.  Please remain in your vehicle when dropping your child(ren) off, whenever possible.

All students need water bottles. The water fountains have their ‘mouth piece’ disengaged and students can only fill bottles.

Cafeteria News!

·         All elementary (K-5) students will eat lunches in their classrooms. Those ordering from the cafeteria, will have it delivered to them in their class. Microwaves will be available in each wing/ classroom.

·         Middle school students will eat in the cafeteria in one of two sittings.

·         Please ensure that your child has necessary cutlery as none will be provided from the cafeteria. Students need to bring lunches in the morning as parents will not be able to drop off lunches throughout the day.

Important Cafeteria Notice:

Unfortunately, our cafeteria (Chartwells) will be delayed in providing service for the first two weeks of school (Sept. 6 – Sept. 19) due to hiring shortages.  Students will be required to come to school with a packed lunch during this time.  Breakfast program will not be affected by this and all students will have access to “Grab n Go” breakfast items each morning.
