Begin by completing the following quick writing prompt: “Make a list of your top 5 movies or tv shows or video games. Choose one item from your list to write about in detail.” This activity should be 10 minutes of quiet writing time. Feel free to share your piece with someone at home when you are finished.

Next, take a few moments to answer the following questions:  Why do we celebrate Remembrance Day? What does Remembrance Day mean to you?

Today I have attached links to our Remembrance Day materials (which we would have been using in the classroom). Included is the “Canada Remembers” newspaper. Please take some time to read at least two articles from the newspaper.

Finally, write a response to one of the articles you read. Remember: a response is a brief summary of what the article is about, and more importantly, how it made you feel (your own thoughts, feelings, opinions, etc.). Your response should be at least two paragraphs in length.
