Good morning students and families!

Today is our fourth day of Home Learning. Here are today’s activities.

Fine Motor

Scissor Practice - If you have scissors available and old flyers, cut out pictures of food and toys. When cutting, be sure to keep your elbow close to your body and your thumb is pointing up.

Video – Fitzy. Monster Show: Using a pair of scissors (1:30 mins) – This can be found on YouTube.com on the channel Kiddo TV

Art

If you can, go to the website artforkidshub.com and check out the lesson Drawing a Person with My 2-Year-Old. This link will open to youtube. You can also do a search in YouTube for Drawing a Person with my 2-Year Old (preschool lessons). Although the lesson says it is for preschool, it is a great step-by-step lesson on how to draw a person. If you do not have access to internet- practice drawing people- don't forget to add details (ex. fingers, hair...shoes)

Try drawing the rest of your family as well!

Language Arts

Label the people in your picture you just drew. You can label your family members by asking them how to spell their names or you can write down the first letter in their names. For example, if you have a brother named Mark, you can write the letter M above his picture.

Ask someone to help you write down a sentence about your picture. For example, “This is my family.” If you would like take a photo of your picture and email me- I would love to see your beautiful artwork!

Math

Count different objects/things in your home. Take your Trace the Numeral sheet with you and color or trace the numeral after counting.

· How many doors in your home?

· How many windows in your kitchen?

· How many bedrooms?

· How many bathrooms?

· How many stairs on your set of stairs?

Sort different objects/items in your home by size – Big or small, adult or child

Some things you might sort are:

· Shoes

· Blocks

· Stuffies

· Cars or dolls

· Dry food containers, cans or boxes

What else can you sort by size at home? Share your ideas with me if you can!

It is important to read to your child each day and have them go outside for physical activity.

Check out Mr. MacKinnon’s Teacher Page for some fun and creative ideas to stay physically active!

I am asking that parents who have not yet responded to me to please respond as soon as you can. It is important that I keep in touch with you, and I can answer any questions or concerns you might have. Thank you! My email is ann.cameron@nbed.nb.ca.
