Donation for Christmas Basket fundraiser: We have extended the date for donations until Wednesday December 2th, so if you have not donated to the basket you still have time. We have 65 students on the Purple Team and we have approx 35 students who have brought in something for the basket. We appreciate all the support which has been given to the team thus far, we want to see this fundraiser be a huge success so we can plan activities for the students. Thank you! Skating: Purple Team will be skating Friday December 11th, 2015. First bus run will be leaving at 10:15 (second immediately following), we will be skating until 11:35 ( first return bus will be at 11:40, and second immediately after).Please note students are to have skates and helmet to come to the rink (parents/guardians may bring their child's equipment directly to the rink if they would like).Also, students should be able to tie their own skates, please practices this at home with them. We have 65 students on the team and only 3 teachers to supervise on and off the ice. Parents are always welcome to join us at the rink to skate with their son/daughter :-) Scholastic book orders for December are here, students have until Thursday December 10th, 2015 to place an order. Parents if you are looking for some a gift(s) for a birthday or Christmas please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail and we can set up a private order has so your child won't know they are receiving the gift. Cafeteria's Christmas Dinner:On Thursday December 3rd the cafeteria will be offering a tradfitional turkey dinner with potatoes,gravy, dressing and veggies. The price is $6.25 and this includes a milk and ice cream for dessert, students need to pre-order and pay by Wednesday December 2th.We would like to congratulate Jorja Lavoie for being Student of the Month for November on the Purple Team! Jorja is in the late immersion program and she works to her full potential everyday, she can be observed using the oral language, asking questions and helping others, we our very proud of everything she has accomplished so far. Students are to work on their booklet 10-15 minutes each night, and can also work on it during Student Enhancement. This booklet is not meant to be done in one day or weekend, it's used for review and vocabulary building. Students will pick books at their level from my class library, they may be reading the same book for a whole week, this is perfectly ok, rereading is very beneficial in a second language. Science Humaines (Social Studies) 6E1, 6E2, 6L.Students have all their notes for this unit, they should be reading it over 2-3 times a week. Quiz will be before the Christmas break.We are starting a new unit on rights and freedoms- students should be looking at The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms ( see weblinks to the right), to read up on it.Discussion questions: 1. What is a right (droit)? 2. What is a privilege (privilège)? 3. What is the difference between the two? 4. How do we have rights? 5. How do we get provilieges? 6. Can rights be taken away? 7. Can privileges be taken away?
