Good morning students and families!

Today is our 12th day of Home Learning in 2022.

Here are today’s activities.

 Language Arts:

Alphabet Review:  ABC Song: The Letter N, "You Need an N" by StoryBots | Netflix Jr - YouTube (right click on link to open)

Letter Nn - This week we are introducing the letter NnNn makes the sound /n/. This sound is made with the mouth slightly opened, with the tongue pushing up towards the roof of the mouth and against the back of the front teeth. Nigel Nightowl makes big owl eyes – use your hands to make big circles in front of your eyes as you make the sound.

Letter Nn Activities:

Today you are going to hunt for the letter n in your home. Check in books, magazines, flyers, food labels, games, and see how many you can find. As you find each letter n, count as you go. Challenge someone at home to find the letter n too. Who found the most? Who found the fewest?

Sight Words:  The new words for List 3 are:        go       is        like

Today we are going to practice the word “is”. Take out the Rainbow roll and write sheet from your . You will need crayons or markers for this activity and a dieFollow the instructions at the top of the sheet.

Next, take out the “They Want Love” reading sheet. Find the word “is” throughout the poem and then point and read each word in the sentence. Practice this a couple of times.

Math:

Number 7 Activity:

In your packet- Take out the Number 7 Train sheet and complete.

Next, make 2-3 collections of 7 items in your home. Some examples might be crayons, toys, shoes, socks, etc. Compare the collections of objects you found. Is the size of the collection different? For example, if you have a collection of 7 chocolate chips and a collection of 7 shoes, the collection of shoes is larger even though the amount of items is the same in each collection.

It is important to read to your child each day and have them go outside for physical activity.

Check out Mr. MacKinnon’s Teacher Page for some fun and creative ideas to stay physically active!

Any completed work can be stored in the Home Learning Kit- until we return to in person learning at school to be placed in their binders.

Once again, thank you for all your support during this challenging time of Home Learning.
