Good morning students and families!

Today is our seventh day of Home Learning. Here are today’s activities.

Language Arts:

1) Alphabet Review - Alphabet Song  - Have Fun Teaching (4:37)

2) Letter g

This week we are introducing the letter g. Gg makes the sound /g/ (guh). Remember Gordo Gorilla pounds his chest when he makes the sound.

 3) Letter Gg Hunt – Go on a Gg hunt in your house. Where can you find the letter Gg in your house? Try looking at in books, food labels (cereal boxes), etc.

Math

This week we are learning about subitizing. Subitizing is the ability to instantly recognize, without counting, “how many” in a small set (dots on a dice).

1) Another way to practice subitizing is using your fingers. With a partner, take turns holding up different arrangements representing numbers. See how quickly you can identify how many fingers without counting.

2)  Subitize Country Style | Subitizing up to 5 | Math Song for Kids Jack Hartmann

Fine Motor: Practice making letter g and the numeral 5

If you are able to, put a thin layer of salt, sugar or sand on a plate. Practice proper formation for the letter g and numeral 5. To make a lowercase g, start like a c and go up and then down with a hook. Remember to make the numeral correctly – neck, belly, flat hat

It is important to read to your child each day and have them go outside for physical activity.
