7P – Home Learning Lesson One

Good morning class. Today we will focus on Social Studies and Math.

Social Studies:  today we begin Chapter 5: Life in British North America. This chapter is part of a larger unit (3), that focuses on how Canada became a country.

The first part of the lesson will be reading. I have attached photos below of pages from the textbook. Begin by reading the attached pages in the order they are listed. Remember to take your time when reading, and to try to figure out what is important in the text. Read to understand the material, not simply to finish the material.

Once you have finished reading, try to make some of your own notes on important points. Ask yourself questions like: what was important in that section? and is there anything I probably need to remember from today’s reading? Try to come up with a minimum of five important points.

Now we will move on to Math. Today’s lesson will be a review of variables and expressions from before Christmas break. Please read through the entire review section before attempting to answer the questions.
