Cooking With Krista

If you would like to join me cooking one day this week, we are going to treat your family with the easiest ‘dump cake’ ever. What is a dump cake? You simply dump the ingredients into the cake pan and cook them. No Stirring, usually and not a lot of ingredients. The one we are going to make has only three ingredients! When the cake is ready to serve, you will want to have either ice-cream or frozen dessert topping for it.

Make sure you have the ingredients on hand before you start and then follow the video I have created or the recipe attached.

3 Ingredient Dump Cake

1 box white cake mix

1 can of Seven Up

1 bag of Frozen Fruit of choice, or two different kinds can be used.

Use a greased 9x13 pan

Making it

  1. Spread your frozen fruit in a layer on the greased pan.  If you are using two different kinds of fruit, make sure they are well mixed up. (I use frozen blueberries and peaches)
  2. Sprinkle the white cake mix evenly over all the fruit. It all needs to be covered and you need to break all the clumps of cake mix up by mashing them with a fork.
  3. This is the most important step! Very slowly, pour the can of Seven-Up over the cake mix, so that all the cake mix is wet. If you pour too quickly, the pop will fizz, and it won’t work. Slow and small amounts at a time is the only way to make sure this works.
  4. Bake in a 350- degree pre-heated oven   45- 50 minutes.
  5. Cool a bit before serving. Serve with ice cream or dessert topping. YUM!
