Morning Meeting with Mrs. Page

Posted: April 6, 2020

Thank you for checking out our Morning Meeting page. Before school ended, we were discussing peer pressure and its effects on us. You will recall we were discussing the short term and long term effects of peer pressure and also identifying samples of negative peer pressure and positive peer pressure.Well, boys and girls, who knew that this Covid- 19 crisis would fit right into our morning meeting discussions in such a relevant manner?

So, before we start, let’s do a quick review.

Peer Pressure is making decisions that only affect your life based on the influence of others. These decisions may have short, or long term rewards or consequences.

This week we will discuss peer pressure and how it has affected our lives during the Covid– 19 Crisis. Below you will find 5 questions that you are encouraged to respond to, in a personal journal that you can keep at home. You may choose to do only one question for the week, or do them all. I do encourage you to write your thoughts down and when you have time, discuss them with your family. I would love to hear from you, so if you would like to email me your response to a specific question, I would be super thrilled! My email address is krista.page@nbed.nb.ca

Remember, you may respond to as many of the 5 questions as you would like.

  • What are some examples of positive peer pressure that you became aware of concerning the Covid– 19 Crisis?
  • What are some examples of negative peer pressure that your became aware of during this Covid- 19 Crisis?
  • ·        In order to stand up to negative peer pressure we need to be confident about ourselves and know that we are strong and can do what is right. List all the great things about you. That includes your talents and your personality. You should have a very long list. Now is not the time to be humble!

    ·        What have been some positive things that have happened for you during this isolation period? What have you enjoyed doing?

    ·        Getting out in the fresh air is important for our physical and emotional health. What are some things that people can do outside, that are fun and we can still maintain social distancing?

I hope you have a terrific week and look forward to hearing from you. I miss you tons! Happy Easter to you and your Family! Be Safe!!
