Home Learning for Tuesday, January 11th, 2022

Posted: January 12, 2022

Dear Parents and Students,

Happy New Year!!  I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

The following is some general information to assist you with at-home learning over the next few weeks.

Home Learning Packets:

By now you have all picked up and perhaps had a chance to glance through the Home Learning Packet.  As mentioned previously, the packets are organized by day, with work to be completed on each of the next 9 days (reading, writing, and math) stapled together.

Please try as much as possible to keep sheets stapled together and in order and return all sheets, whether completed or not, to the packet each day.  This will make it easier when it comes time to return everything, and the plastic envelope can be reused if necessary in the future.

I want to say, please just do the best you can; I know this is difficult for everyone but be assured, I am here for you. Remember to please reach out should you have any questions or concerns.  You can text (preferred method) or email me at maryann.barrieau@nbed.nb.ca

Thank you and take care,

Ms. B.

Packet pages:

Context Clues, pp. 21-22

Words that Describe, p. 11

Time from analog and digital clocks

In addition to the work provided in the packet for today, as listed above, please complete the following:

Reading:

Read 15-20 mins. from a book that you have at home and record on the Elementary Reading Log sheet provided at the front of your packet.

Spelling:

Practise your List 11 Spelling words, posted below (please scroll down).  Choose any ten words from the list and write a sentence with each (you may do this in the enclosed green Hilroy notebook if you don’t have looseleaf paper at home).

Journal Writing:

Please use your green Hilroy notebook to respond to Prompt #1 (a list of prompts can be found at the beginning of your packet, stapled immediately behind the two Reading Log sheets):

Think about a place you like to go to be alone.  Write about this place and explain why you like to go there to be alone.  What does it smell like, sound like, feel like, and look like?  Are there certain times you like to be alone?  How do you feel when you are there?  What do you do?
