Hello Everyone,   Below (attached) are the tournament rules and also reminders about events going on during the weekend.  

***IMPORTANT:  You need to book The Residence Inn by today, Wednesday, February 10th to get the $129 rate.  When you call to book, call the hotel directly, 854-7100, and ask for the Harkins Middle School rate.  We have a room guarantee contract that Mr. Mattatall (the tournament organizer) signed to guarantee the $129 for 10 rooms, although he just spoke to the booking manager and she said if needed she can add a few more rooms. The contract states that the rooms cannot be cancelled due to the rate, therefore you might want to keep that in mind. It also outlines hotel policies and states that rooms need to be booked tomorrow.  After tomorrow, they will not guarantee the $129 rate.    ***We will meet at the Bessborough Middle School for our first game at 6:50pm (game begins at 7:20pm).  If you did not get a print off of the google map directions, see the folder outside of Miss Barrieau’s classroom door.   *** Saturday February 13th we play at 8:45 am  Magnetic Hill vs Harkins and at 12:45 pm Bessborough vs Harkins.    2:45 pm Semi-final #1 vs #4 4:00 pm Semi-final #2 vs #3   ***Miss Barrieau’s cellphone # is 625-3870 if you have questions or need to get in touch over the weekend.    J

Hello Amy,   I think we finally have everything straightened out for the hotel.  When your parents call to book they need to call the hotel directly, 854-7100, and ask for the Harkins Middle School rate.  The attachment is the room guarantee contract that I signed to guarantee the $129 for 10 rooms, although I just spoke to the booking manager and she said if needed she can add a few more rooms. Hi Amy,    Tomorrow after school I am meeting with the manager at the hotel to sign a room block verification sheet.  After that there shouldn't be any problems and I have been assured that the $129 rate is what you will get.  I'm really sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused either you or the parents of your players.   I will email you tomorrow after I meet with the manager tomorrow to verify with you that everything has been rectified. On Saturday, we have parents who are making homemade chili, corn chowder and chicken noodle soup that will be sold from the canteen to provide an economical lunch for parents and students wishing to remain on site.  We will also have Powerade, fresh popcorn and other items available at the canteen on Friday and Saturday.     Take care, Nick Mattatall Grade 5,7 & 8 Bessborough School
