Message from Bessborough Tournament Organizer:    Hello Everyone,   Once again thank you very much for your enrollment in our 50th anniversary tournament.  Below you will find a tentative schedule.  Some times may have to be adjusted after I have referee allocations confirmed by the referee coordinator.  Please review the schedule and if there are any problems please email me asap so that we can make necessary changes and inform all teams within a reasonable period of time to make alternate travel arrrangements.  Further details regarding the pizza party, tournament rules and other information will be sent with a finalized schedule Monday.    We will be playing 4 eight minute quarters.  I have built in some catch-up time in the event that games run late; however, if possible I would like teams to be on site 15 minutes before the game so that if necessary and agreed to by both teams we can start immediately following the conclusion of the previous game. Canteen facilities will be available on site with fresh popcorn, Powerade and other items available.  We will also be having a silent auction both Friday night and Saturday that is open to anyone participating in the tournament as well as any family members or fans on site.  Prizes include hotel rooms, restaurant gift certificates, zoo passes and other prizes.   Friday February 12th 1:30 pm  Hillcrest vs Bessborough 3:00 pm  Lewisville vs Dr. Losier 4:15 pm  Bessborough vs Magnetic Hill 6:00 pm  Hillcrest vs Dr. Losier 7:20 pm  Harkins vs Lewisville   Saturday February 13th 8:45 am  Magnetic Hill vs Harkins 10:00 am Hillcrest vs Lewisville 11:15 am Dr. Losier vs Magnetic Hill 12:45 pm Bessborough vs Harkins   2:45 pm Semi-final #1 vs #4 4:00 pm Semi-final #2 vs #3   6:00 pm  Final   Nick Mattatall Grade 5,7 & 8 Bessborough School

PARENTS AND PLAYERS, THIS WEEK: Great Game last night Lady Blues!  Remember that Thursday we play NSER at home at 4:30pm.  Please be at the gym for 4pm.  On this Sunday, we will play at 10:45am against Jacquet River and at 12:00 noon we will play the Mini Tommies. NEXT WEEK:  Tuesday, February 9th we will play Dr Losier 2 at Harkins.  We will practice Thursday afterschool 3-4:30pm. ***We will participate in the Bessborough Basketball Tournament in Moncton on Friday and Saturday, February 12th and 13th.  We will have one game on Friday night and two games Saturday.  Once the schedule is sent to me,  I will post it on here.  The organizers are looking at having a pizza party on Friday night for all teams.    We will be staying at the Residence Inn (4 and a 1/2 star hotel), who are offering rooms with kitchenettes, free continental breakfast with hot dishes, and an indoor pool for $129 a night.  These rooms are normally $200 plus taxes.  The Residence Inn is located in Downtown Moncton, about 8-10 minutes from our school, and 2-3 minutes from Champlain Place.  When you call to book a room, you must mention that you're in town for the Bessborough Basketball Tournament to receive the discounted rate. Call 506-854-7100 and browse the site http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/yqmri-residence-inn-moncton/.  Sharing rooms is also a good option for saving $ and building team spirit! Directions: I'll print them off and put them in the folder on my classroom door. JAMBOREE: The Jamboree will be reschedule for after March Break.  More info will be sent to you when I get it.   Thanks for your support everybody!  It's sure to be a great trip next week with a great group of b-ball players! Miss Barrieau & Mrs Kingston

Math 6L, 61, 62 -  Science 6L, 61, 62 - Gazing at the Moon:  Remember to look for craters, maria and rays.  Adjust your focus (and lenses) and use a tripod if you have one.  Do not look directly at the sun as you can damage your eyes.   Note:  You may keep telescopes at home for the time being.  Clouds, light pollution, trees and buildings can sometimes make viewing difficult.  Try your best and experiment with different lenses and focus.  All:  Project for «Que contient le système solaire?» due.  Extra time in the lab will be offered.
