Education is looking pretty different across Canada this year, and whether you are a teacher in the classroom, delivering virtual lessons, an ECE, or a parent facilitating at-home learning with your kids, getting outside in the Winter is easy, important, and beneficial for all. The NHL recently partnered with Classroom Champions to bring a brand new social justice program, Lessons from Willie, to schools across North America. We were proud to be invited to the programs’ launch, which was live streamed with a panel of special guests including Willie O’Ree, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and others on February 1st.
This year, due to Covid restrictions, the French Second Language parent sessions will be done virtually. To be able to participate, parents will have to download Zoom. During the session, a PowerPoint presentation will be shared and then there will be time for a Q & A. Max Aitken will be celebrating Family Literacy Day on January 20. The staff have arranged a number of activities to promote the importantce of reading. When you open a book you open up the world!
Notices were sent home with information about purchasing a 2020-2021 Max Aitken Academy yearbook.
Students wishing to purchase a yearbook should return the order form and payment ($25) to their homeroom teacher. The last day to order is Friday, March 12, 2021.
Starting at midnight tonight, New Brunswick will go to an orange alert level, as announced this afternoon by the province's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Jennifer Russell.
