Our major fundraiser of the year finished up on Monday September 30 and the winner of the $1000 in gas will be announced this Friday Oct. 4th. Max Aitken would like to thank the entire learning community for the continued support of this important fundraising initiative. Good luck to all who participated.
On Monday September 30th Max with be particpating in the annual Orange Shirt Day Ceremony. Orange Shirt Day is an event that started in 2013. It was designed to educate people and promote awareness about the Indian residential school system and the impact this system had on Indigenous communities for more than a century in Canada.
Everyone is asked to wear Orange on Monday to support this important initiative.
On Thursday September 26th the entire learning community will be participating in the annual Terry Fox School Walk at 1:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to come out and walk with the school in support of this important cause. Please note, the theme is "Toonie for Terry" where we are asking all students and staff to contribute a toonie toward the fight against cancer.
There will be a free screening of Indian Horse on Monday Sept. 30 6:30 pm at the Vogue Theater for Orange Shirt Day. Everyone Welcome and open to the public.
Home & School Elections will take place at Max Aitken on Tuesday Sept. 17th beginning at 7:00 pm. Memberships will be available for purchase before and after the meeting to support the many initiatives offered throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to attend!
MAA will be hosting a Meet the Teacher this Thursday September 12th beginning at 6:00 pm. Come out and meet the wonderful staff of MAA and get to know your childs teachers. This meet and greet will take place in the school cafeteria. There will be finger foods, snacks, and drinks available.
