Home Learning for Grades 3-5

Notes

Students, Parents & Guardians:

Welcome to our 10th and final week of home learning opportunities! We hope that you were able to take some time to enjoy these activities and make the most of your time at home.  We hope each of you know how much you are missed. We miss seeing your smiling faces and hearing all of your funny stories. As we move on to the summer break it is our wish for you to get some physical activity in each day and get outside to enjoy the warmer weather. No matter what you do this summer, relax, have fun and most importantly BE SAFE!

We have missed you all very much!

Great job to everyone who participated in the Virtual Olympics!

Have a great week everyone!

Welcome to Week 9 of online learning opportunities! The attachment file at the bottom has suggested activities for this week.

Notice to Elementary students and parents:
Elementary teachers are missing you terribly but hope that you find fun ways to stay connected with our Home Learning Grids each week. Please remember that you are to find assignments on the K-2 and 3-5 teacher Group page. These grids are planned by all teachers and cover curriculum common to all grade levels.
You may also go to your teacher's personal page as you will find material posted there that will help you with the grid on the K-2 or 3-5 page. On your teacher's personal page you will also find 'stretch activities' to try, if you find the assignment on the grid too easy. Grade specific work will be found on your teacher's page. It is important to note that we are offering opportunities for learning to meet your needs. You do not need to do everything on both the home learning K-2 and 3-5 page and your teacher's page!

Please feel free to reach out to any of your teachers at any time if you have questions or wish to share pictures or videos of what you are working on. If you would like we can post the pictures and videos of what students send in on our ‘Taking it to the Max’ tab on the school website. For a list of teacher emails CLICK HERE.

We hope you continue to have fun with these activities! We also hope you all know how much each and everyone of you are missed. Your homeroom teachers may post special messages to you or helpful suggestions when doing your home learning on their teacher page so please remember to check them out!

Don’t forget to check out Mrs. Page’s teaching page for more delicious baking tutorials!

Students, Parents & Guardians,

Welcome to our MAA Grades 3-5 Home Learning Page!

This is the beginning of our learning opportunities for students. All activities review concepts that students have already been exposed to in the classroom and no new material will be introduced at this time.

We have included a table that is in an attached PDF file below. The table is divided into 5 categories: Reading, Writing, Math, Wellness and French Immersion.  The idea behind the grid is to provide students with activities they can choose from. Students will have choice between both no technology activities and some that use different websites with provided links.

If you do not have time for all of them but would like to complete a few, the option is yours – they are just opportunities. They are completely optional and adaptable to each grade level. Each week, visit this page for ideas that teachers have prepared. There will be a new post each Monday by 9:00am. There will be no formal assessment of this work, but please feel free to email your child's teacher with any questions. For a list of teacher email addresses, CLICK HEREWe hope that you have fun with it!

ALSO! Mr. Flynn’s teacher page is quite empty! Students are challenged to get up and give a helping hand around the house. This can be cleaning, cooking, shoveling, laundry or anything that includes being helpful around the home. If possible, send any photos to Mr. Flynn so he can post to his teacher page to show how students are taking it to the Max! Photos can be sent to ryan.flynn@nbed.nb.ca

Know that we miss our students dearly and we’re here to help you any way we can.

     - MAA 3-5 Team

Note: For any students interested in following along with Mrs. Page's cooking tutorials, please visit her teacher page!

You can find the 3-5 grid in the PDF file attached.
