I just wanted to write a little note to keep parents/guardians up to date on your child's journey in learning a second (or third language).
I am speaking to them in French only now (a few exception: lockdown practice/fire drills/injuries). They understand quite a bit of what I say to them, or can figure it out by looking at pictures/gestures and actively listening. "Regardez et écoutez!"
Beside daily routine stuff (line up, sit down, quiet, listen, look, change your shoes, etc.) we have also been learning the colours, #s to 10 (starting at any number from 0-10, forward & backwards) the weather, the date (also the days of the week & months of the year), lots of songs, basic body parts, greetings, how to introduce themselves and ask someone else their name, the alphabet in French, introduction to the sounds of letters & so much more!

I will be placing a Scholastic book order, after school, on the 20th of September.
If you would like to place an order you can send the order and money with your child,
or if it is a surprise gift, you can drop it off at the office for me and I will contact you when it comes in.

We will be participating in the Terry Fox Walk on September 28th, 2017.
Our campaign "A Toonie for Terry" has been a successful fundraiser for cancer research, in the past.
Any donation is appreciated.
