Below is a document where you can see this year's (results of submissions from last year) winners for the Remembrance Day contest.  Due date for submissions for contest is Nov. 30.  We will be doing poetry in class but those who wish to submit written (poem or essay) or poster submissions must be done by Nov. 30.  There is also a family permission slip that must be signed and submitted with your contest item.   When necessary, I'll make arrangements to pick up contest submissions before that date.

For 6P and 6/7 P Social Studies, a poster, or poem or essay on Remembrance Day IS mandatory.  Putting it in the contest is NOT mandatory.  If you do a poem, this will count toward your upcoming poetry unit in Language Arts, when you finish your memoir.

For 6E, 6/7E, 6P, 6/7P Writing, we will be doing a poem in November, after you finish your memoir.  You can

1. choose to write about a Remembrance Day topic and put it in the contest OR

2. you can write about a topic of your choice and not put it in the contest.
