TERM 2 Grade 6 Home Reading Plan
Students will be tracking their own reading, 3x a week. This begins this week and will continue until the end of Term 2. If it is needed, it will continue into Term 3.
1. Students are expected to read the same book (when possible) nightly Monday to Thursday
2. Students are asked to commit to one book for this and to bring books back and forth to and from school when possible. This bookmark is to be kept in their book when possible. Ebooks on Sora are okay as they can be read here at school.
3. This will be handed out on Monday for 6P, 6/7P, 6E and returned the following week on Monday with 3 complete home reading pages
4. This will be given to 6/7E on Tuesdays and collected on Tuesdays with 3 filled home reading slots
5. Those with 3 filled slots, returned on time, will have a chance to win a draw for some small prizes each week
6. This will be tracked and marked by me. 1/3 slots filled is 33%, 2/3 slots filled is 67%, 3/3 slots filled is 100% and a chance to win

1. Write sentences with the following words:
2. Read your reading book 20 min. Identify who, what (problem or subject of book), and the setting (when and where the story or book takes place) and put it in point in Nov. 29 slot of your homework agenda.
3. Watch Video on "Because": Use 'because' to combine sentences - YouTube
4. In the book you are reading, or another book, find a sentence with the word "because" in it. Write this example down at the end of the page where you write sentences with you new words.
5. If you have Remembrance Day poems, posters, essays at home with permission slips, be sure to have them at school at the beginning of the day tomorrow to bring to the office for pick-up by the Legion.

Students are to start bringing in materials for the collaboration projects as soon as possible. Our next project work day is Tuesday, Nov. 23. They do not have to wait but can start bringing in materials tomorrow.
