Spelling test on *Thursday

*Santa for Seniors on Friday

Christmas Concert for 3-5 is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14 @ 10:00 am. 

The storm date for the concert is Thursday, December 15 @ 10:00 am.

The cafeteria Christmas dinner is Monday, December 19th for students who pre-ordered.
You will not be able to order anything else this day. Tuesday, the cafeteria will be open for 'Grab & Go' items only.
The cafeteria will be closed until Christmas after Tuesday (Dec. 20).

Today's assignments from your home learning:

  • Reading & complete reading log
  • Problème du jour - Do the problem of the day for vendredi – semaine 3
  • Orthographe: Challenge yourself to write as many French words as possible with the letters given.
  • Compréhension de lecture: Read the hints to see if you can find the person they are describing in the photo.
  • Je lis, je dessin: Read lines 1-7 and add to the picture after reading each step.
  • Math (comparison): write a < (less than symbol) , a > (greater than symbol) or = (equal to) between the dice on the left and right. (Just count the number of dice, not the numbers on the dice).
  • Soustrations: using a place value table, subtract the 3-digit numbers. (It says to underline the units in yellow, the tens in orange and the hundreds in green.. he can do this, but he doesn't have to if he understands the value of each place).
  • The last page is a continuation of the subtractions using a place value table.
  • 8) Art - For art today you may try your hand at paper sculptures (watch this link to see how simple they are.)

Here are a couple video to help with review multiplying with 2 times tables and 3 times tables.
Remember: When multiplying, think of the symbol ‘x’ as the words ‘groups of’.
Ex: 3x2 « trois groupes de deux = 2+2+2 » = 6

Don’t forget to read at least one book on Je lis, Je lis (online) each day & fill in your reading log & record yourself reading twice a week.

  • Le verbe : match the verbs : (B) Circle the food group that the picture belongs to, (C) Draw a food item that belongs to each of the food groups given.
  • Orthographe, leçcon 11 : (1) Write the given masculine words in feminine, (2) Write the opposite of the words given, (3) What word from the work bank rhymes with the following words?, (4) Write a sentence using this word (remember, your sentence does not need to start with this word).
  • Math (les suites) : complete the patterns & write the rule.
  • Additions : add 3-digit numbers, start with your “unites” and work your way from right to left. (2 pages)

Today is also “Bell Let’s Talk Day” . This is a day to recognize mental health as an important part of everyone’s overall health. Here is a quick 5 minute meditation video that might help you to start your day with a clear mind. Try it out here!

Today's assignments from your home learning:

  • Reading & complete reading log
  • Problème du jour - Do the problem of the day for mercredi – semaine 3
  • Les lettres muettes : Write the name of the animal and then circle the silent letter.
  • La phrase : Put the words in the right order to make a sentence that makes sense.
    Hint: Look for capital letters to start your sentence.
  • Compréhension de lecture : Read Maya’s grocery list and circle the items on the table from her list.
  • Math (soustractions) : Write the answer to the math problem shown.
  • Statistique : Answer questions a-e using the information from the graph.
    (a)    How many lions did they see?
    (b)    How many monkeys?
    (c)     How many animals in total?
    (d)    Are there more elephants or zebras?
    (e)    What animal did William see most?
  • Écris les nombres : (3) listen to this audio (pause as you need to) & write down the numbers you hear. For this part you can just write the numeral.
    (4) Write the number as a word for the numbers 1-10
