Grade 8 Math classes are currently working with percents, fractions and decimals. We would like to do a relevant activity for this section using local flyers. If you could please send in with your child any flyers that may interest them it would be greatly appreciated :) (Futureshop, Staples, Sportchek etc)

Grade 8 Ski trip: We are asking for help in collecting items for a Valentine's Day basket we would like to sell tickets on.  All proceeds will go toward helping to ensure all grade 8's will have the opportunity to participate. 8B: Need Interim reports brought back signed tomorrow. 8 Math: currently reviewing 'relating fracctions, decimals and percent' and are moving on to calculating percent of a number. Science (7 & 8): All science lab reports are due Wed of next week. 7B Soc St: Yellow Heritage Fair slips were to be signed and returned last Friday... please check on this if you have not brought yours back signed.

8 Science: Keep an eye on duotang organization... Optics quiz coming up end of next week. 8 Math: Squares, Square roots, Pythagorean Theorem quiz Wed. Dec. 10th. 7 Science: Microbes quiz end of next week. Starting Microbe Assignment presentations this week.

8 Math: We have a District Math assessment coming up the week of Dec.15th.  We are working very hard on the concepts and it is extremely important for students to be attending classes, trying hard in class, attending tutorials if needed and attempting all homework assignments.Homework due Fri, Nov.28: p. 15, questions 11 and 12 (Squares and square roots)7 Science: There are still a few students who have not completed their 'Microbes' assignment.  Please check with your child to ensure that this is completed ASAP.  They have been given ample time at school to complete it. Gr 8 Ski Trip: We are starting to talk about the Grade 8 Ski trip.  A notice will be sent home with your child before Christmas break.  This trip usually takes place near the end of February.  We will be starting to talk about fundraisers to help us ensure everyone can goas well. Please email or call me with any questions about the information here.  Krista Hamiltonkrista.hamilton2@nbed.nb.ca627-4088

Quiz Thursday. 8 Sci: Hand duotangs in by Nov.8, Get test signed for +1% 7 Sci: Start researching your good/bad microbes (see previous note for assignment).

8B - tomorrow is mismatched shoes day!   8 Math - Questions assigned tomorrow are due Wed Oct. 29th (p.420, 4, 5, 6, 7) Get 'progress report' slip signed for tomorrow or its a call home.   8 Science - 8B were assigned back page of Review assignment due tomorrow.  8A and 8B have a Test Thursday Oct 30 on 'Water' and 'Climate Change' (study all notes in your duotang for this Unit)   7 Science - Owl Pellet Lab and Duotangs are due this Friday.
