Home Learning: Monday Jan. 17th

Students are asked to complete all Home Learning assignments to the best of their ability. 

Students will be asked to pass in all assignments when in-person learning resumes along with other items found in the Home Learning package (reading selections/books, crayons, oil pastels, Phys. Ed log)

FRENCH: Click on the attachment ‘Home Learning Jan. 17th’ below to find activities that will permit students to practice their French listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

MATH: In the Home Learning package, students will find an assignment entitled “Exploring Faces and Edges of Objects”. Students are asked to read/review the section ‘Quick Review’ on the top of side one of this worksheet. Students may also want to view the Youtube video:    Faces, Edges, & Vertices / 5th Grade Math

Students are then asked to complete #1 on side one of the worksheet, and #1 , #2 and #3 on side two of the worksheet. Answers go directly on the worksheet please.

Art: In the Home Learning package, students will find instructions/materials for this week’s art activity: Oil Pastel project

READING (English): Students are asked to read for 15-20 minutes daily from a book that they may have at home or from the school library book that they may have taken home before Christmas.

Physical Education: In the Home Learning package, students will find a Phys Ed log to keep track of their physical activities while they are home for home learning. Mr. Flynn will collect these Phys. Ed. logs when students return to in-person learning.  Mr. Flynn will also be using his teacher page to create and provide new content to keep students active during this home learning time.

Bingo: In the Home Learning package, students will find a bingo card. I will post five numbers each day of home learning.  First student with a full card will win a prize. Prize will be awarded when we return to in-person learning.  If nobody has a full card when in-person learning resumes, we will continue the game until we have a winner.  Today’s numbers are:

Home Learning: Friday Jan. 14th

Students are asked to read/review the section ‘Quick Review’ on the top of side one of this worksheet. Students are then asked to complete #1 and #2 on side one of the worksheet, and #1 and #2 on side two of the worksheet. Answers go directly on the worksheet please.

MATH: In the Home Learning package, students will find an assignment entitled ‘Investigating Quadrilaterals’. Students are asked to read/review the section ‘Quick Review’ on the top of side one of this worksheet.  If students have access to the internet, they may want to view the Youtube video:  5th Grade – Math - Two Dimensional Figures – Topic Overview as well. The video is 5mins 35seconds in length. Students are then asked to complete #1 on side one of the worksheet, and the section ‘Practice’ on side two of the worksheet. Answers go directly on the worksheet please.

               As was indicated in the e-mail sent to all parents on Friday Jan. 7th,  parents are invited to collect the

    Home Learning Package today Monday Jan. 10th between 9am - 2pm

at the front entrance to the school.  Staff will be there to distribute the packages.

                        First assignments begin tomorrow.
