(Have to post here, as I'm not able to upload to my Documents page at the moment...)

I am starting my "Wellness Journey" today and am setting two goals for this week:

1. To walk at least 20 minutes on at least 3 days this week

2. To drink at least 4 glasses of water every day this week

I'm starting out slowly because I need to build my stamina and because I want my goals to be reachable.  I will post my progress here on my page so that you can check up on me ;), and I encourage you to set a wellness goal or two of your own this week and join me on the journey!!

Hello, dear boys and girls; hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that the Easter Bunny was able to find each of you!!  I have a little something for you, for both Easter and St. Patrick's Day; I will save these little surprises (nothing edible, nothing that can go bad!!) until I'm able to see you again- and I hope that will be soon!!

As mentioned previously, I am starting my "Wellness Journey" today; if you are interested in following my progress, click on the Documents tab at the top of this page.  I encourage you to join me in setting your own wellness goals; let's get/stay healthy and well together!!

Art Hub - Easter

Easter is fast approaching, so I thought it would be neat to do an Easter Art activity; I would love to see your artwork, so if you or your parents could email me the finished product, that would be awesome!!

Have fun channelling your inner artist!!

To the sweet boys and girls of 3-4B,

Hello!!  How are you all doing?  I miss you more than words can explain!!  I hope you and your families are all keeping well and staying safe.  As for me, I'm glad that I have my doggy Grim to cuddle with, since I really miss your hugs and have to practise social distancing with everyone else!!  I've been doing some reading for two book studies and cleaning my mom's house while she's in the hospital.  I also plan on starting my very own Wellness Journey next week; I'm going to set weekly goals and then journal and share with you regularly on my page, so that you can check up on my progess!!

We do not want you and your parents to stress at all about Home Learning.  This is new for all of us and we will figure it out together as we go along- and the ideas and activities posted are meant to be fun!!  Your parents have my contact information and can get in touch anytime if you or they have a question.  :)

Please be sure to click on the tab that says Home Learning Opportunities at the top of the Max Aitken home page and then select 3-5 from the drop down menu.  There you will find suggestions for activities that you can do for Numeracy (Math), Reading, Writing, and Wellness.

It is recommended by the Department of Education that students in grades 3-5 spend an average of one hour per day (total 5 hours per week, however you want to break it up) for learning; this includes 30 minutes of reading daily, whether online or print materials such as books, magazines, etc.  They also suggest an additional 30 minutes daily, on average, for wellness activities- and staying well physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. is very important.  Certainly, you can do more if you wish, but we don't want to overhwelm you or your parents!!

Here on my own teacher page, I'm going to post materials that you might need in completing the activities on the 3-5 page, such as math charts, word walls, reading and comprehension strategies, etc. I'm also going to post things that hopefully, you will find fun and interesting!!

Take care, boys and girls, and stay happy, healthy, and smiling!!  I'll be in touch again soon; miss and love you all very much!!  <3
